Tackling Waste There are two types of waste: packaging and excessive ordering. As a member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, a leader in the development of a circular economy for packaging in Australia, Drillcut supports APCO’s 2025 National packaging targets, both in principle and practice: 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging 70% of plastic packaging being recycled or composted 50% of average recycled content included in packaging (revised from 30% in 2020) Sub-targets for plastics: PET 30%, HDPE: 20%, PP: 20%, soft plastics: 10% Phase out of problematic and unnecessary single-use plastics packaging In summary, we must accelerate discussions on environmentally sustainable construction, expanding our focus from the structure to its internal components. We need to question the use of non-sustainable materials and strive for granular solutions, such as reducing waste during construction, to align with market demands.
